That is why we decided to write a full blog post with all the tips you need to pick the perfect wig-gift for your mom, one that she will enjoy for years to come.
Choosing a wig for someone else, might seem a very hard task, but it shouldn’t. No one knows your mom better than you do and I am sure you will be able to find something that she loves and that also gives her the boost of confidence that she deserves.
Tip #1: Pick something that it not completely far from her comfort zone – if you know the style that she likes, try not to go too far from it. Sometimes it is nice to push the boundaries a little bit and add a different twist to her look just because nothing compares to the feeling of enjoying a small transformation, when you suddenly see yourself through a new perspective, don’t you agree?
How do you apply this tip? If you mom only wears tons of black or brown, try to get her something in a similar style but that has some highlights on the hair, like a balayage colour. If she normally wears the same length, maybe it is a good idea to try something a bit longer or shorter.

Tip #2: Collect some options – you can’t even imagine how many ideas you can get from her old friends or family. People that also know her well enough and remember the different types of hairstyles that she had used in the past. Your mum might even have forgotten other styles that she used to wear and that can look amazing on her. You could use all these insights to find the perfect wig that will bring back good memories and make your mom feel rejuvenated.
Tip #3: Get something that she can maintain – if you mom is not used to investing a lot of time in maintaining a wig, try not to give her something that will be too hard for her. You might end up paying for an expensive wig that she might be afraid to use because she doesn’t know how to care for it. The idea is to make her fall in love with her new hair in a way that she won’t be able to take it off her head.
Tip #4: Pick something that she will know how to install – this is very important. We had a boom in lace wigs in recent years, but some of the styles will require glue to be installed.
