New year is right around the corner and 2023 is arriving full of amazing trends. We spoke to hair specialists from all over the world to understand what will be the biggest hair trends for the new season. We do this process every two to three months just to make sure we are always on top of all the trends. We then combine the results of this research with the analysis of new wig technologies that are being developed all over the world to predict what will boom inside our market.

Trending Wig Styles to Try in 2023

If you love wigs or are planning to invest on a new hairstyle or maybe just curious to learn more about the results of our research, check out the biggest wig trends for 2023.

1- Longer Bobs – "Bob wigs" is a very broad category, so they will always be on trend but each season we see some twists on the exact style of bob that will prevail and the focus for summer 2023 will be on longer length bobs from 14 to 16 inches long with middle part lace.

2- Short Blunt Cut – Blunt cut is a style of hair where the hair seems to be cut in the exact same length. It makes sense in short wigs where the sharp cut is more evident. We will see a lot of straight and texturized hair in this style.

3- Short Curly Fringes – this trend started in 2022 and is still gaining momentum. In 2023, we will see this hairstyle in many different formats, from shag and wild to a put together wet look. There will be also an explosion of colours specially around brown and blond colours which are the trendiest colour tons for the new year.

4- The Blowout look – The 90s will be back next year with long straight hair that will come with a bit more volume and flicked-up ends. This will be a turning point for the wig industry that was becoming obsessed about the extremely straight hair. Soon we will start noticing that the wig launches will be more natural hairstyles that are easier to achieve and maintain.

5- Dramatic Side Parts – Side parts will have their moment of glory next season. 2022 was all about middle part and the explosion of T-part and Lace front wigs with middle part. We will see the same movement with side parts. The star of the show will be to wear your side part with flat ironed hair around it to create an even more dramatic look. Independently if the hair is bone straight or super curly, side parts will be everywhere.

6- Textured styles – You will notice that texturized hair will be everywhere this next year, from short to long hair. The good news is that if you have a straight wig that is still in a very good shape, you can easily achieve this hairstyle instead of investing on a new one. The easiest way of doing it is by using a flat iron. See below how easy it is to texturize your straight hair:

Take a small section of your hair and clamp it inside the flat iron.

1. Take a small section of your hair and clamp it inside the flat iron.
2. Flip your flat iron around (away from your face)
3. Pull the flat iron through the length of the hair keeping this position (stop when there is ¼ of the hair left - don’t go until the end)
4. Repeat this process with the rest of the hair, always picking small sections.

The festive season is also the best time to look for a new hairstyle to rock in 2023. We love the idea of “new year, new you” and we all know that our hair has a massive impact on our overall look.
