Best updos you can do with a Frontal Wig

Do you have a full-frontal wig or are you planning on investing in one soon? There are so many reasons why we love frontal wigs! Firstly, they are perfect for customizations: you can pluck the hairline as much as you like and also bleach the knots in a bigger area, normally 13x4 inches. One of the main reasons why we also love them so much is because of the flexibility they give us to build the most amazing hairstyles.

Do you feel you are exploring the full potential of your frontal wig? Probably not and we totally get it. It is difficult to find the time or the creativity to learn and build different hairstyles. If you are struggling with that, then this blog post is perfect for you.

    Frontal Wig Updo Hairstyles

We have listed the best updo hairstyle ideas to try with Frontal Wig. Ah! They are also easy to learn and implement.

Braided half up-do. This hairstyle is a “must-try” if you have a full customized frontal wig. For this style, all you have to do is cornrows. Just divide the front part of your frontal wig hair into 2 or 4 equal size sections. Braid each section and pull them all to the back where you will tie them together in a half ponytail. Check below this example from our ambassador Chelsea Cece, Isn't it the cutest style?

Example of how to braid a Frontal wig

Flat low ponytail with middle or side part line. This hairstyle is very chic and the fact that you can open a partline in your frontal will make it look super natural on you. All you have to do is to open a partline and use a hot comb or wand to flatten the hair down all the way around the top of your head and then tie a low ponytail at the back.

High half ponytail. This hairstyle is perfect for casual events specially during the day. You might want to use glue to properly secure your frontal wig on your head first. After installation, all you have to do is to pull your hair to the back but bringing it closer to the top of your head, so you can see the ponytail when you look to the mirror. See examopls below from one of our wigs:

You can even transform the ponytail into a bun by twisting it around and securing it with pins or with another elastic hair band. Another variation is to create 2 little buns on both side of your head with a clear middle part just like one of our Faces of LolaSilk did with this stunning ombre blond frontal wig:

Braided hairline. This is a modern and yet very romantic hairstyle. The first step is to open a part line on your frontal wig - it can be in the middle or on the side. It all depends on what do you think will suit your face shape the best (check here our guide about best hairstyles for each face shape). In the second step you will separate the front part of your hair and braid it alongside your hairline towards the back of your ear. You will do it on both sides and secure the braids with a pin behind your ears.

At this stage you can decide to leave the hair loose at the back or tie it up on a low ponytail or bun. It will depend on the type of event you are dressing up for. Loose hair will always be associated with more casual events but you could also wear it to a more formal occasion if you style it in a way to make it look perfectly in place.

All hairstyles listed above will maximize the exposure of the wig lace and this might increase your desire to find ways to hide it better. The best techniques to camouflage the lace is by styling beautiful baby hair, by blending your lace with your hairline using your foundation and also by leaving some loose strands of hair falling on the side of your face.

Now that you saw our selection of the best hairstyles you can do with your frontal wig, which one are you planning to test? The first time might always take a bit of extra time, but it shouldn’t be difficult to implement any of those hairstyles above and the sooner you start, the more chances you will have to master whichever style you pick.
